You will help customers define and implement Sartorius automation platforms (e.g., Biobrain® suite) in the context of their global process, workflows, IT/OT architecture, and regulatory requirements, ensuring seamless integration into Automation landscape [DCS and MES systems]. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers and a key technical partner to the regional Sales organization, collaborating closely with internal Sales, Process Consulting, Services, and Product Management teams. By combining deep automation and integration expertise with bioprocess knowledge and commercial awareness, you will play a pivotal role in strategic customer engagements such as technology transfers, commercialization projects, and facility buildouts. This role requires strong technical credibility, a customer-facing mindset, and the ability to connect technical solutions with business value. Experience in sales support, technical sales, or product management is highly welcomed, as this position bridges technology and commercial strategy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior automation consultant for strategic customer projects, ensuring Sartorius solutions integrate seamlessly with customer IT/OT environments (DCS, SCADA, MES).

  • Provide expert-level pre- and post-sales support, resolving automation challenges and supporting Sales in customer discussions.

  • Lead Sartorius automation contributions in tech transfers and commercialization projects, working with in-network manufacturing sites and CDMOs.

  • Collaborate with Process Consulting team members during Discover® Process Surveys, contributing automation expertise to shape customer strategies and identify long-term partnership opportunities.

  • Promote adoption of the Biobrain® suite of control software, driving platform conversions where appropriate.

  • Support customers and Sartorius teams by applying TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and CoGS (Cost of Goods Sold) models to demonstrate the business value of Sartorius automation solutions.

  • Coordinate implementation of PAT (Process Analytical Technology) and Data Analytics tools with relevant subject matter experts during optimization and commercialization projects.

  • Partner with regulatory experts to assess and manage regulatory impact and change control requirements related to automation deployment.

  • Represent Sartorius in industry forums (e.g., ISPE, BioPhorum), contributing to strategic discussions and enhancing Sartorius visibility in the automation community.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Bioengineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, with a focus on automation, IT/OT integration, process development, MSAT, or manufacturing.

  • Experience in sales engineering, customer success, or product management in an automation or bioprocessing environment strongly preferred.

  • Proven expertise in automation architectures and integration (e.g., DeltaV, PCS7, OPC UA, MES systems).

  • Strong knowledge of bioprocess workflows, including upstream and downstream operations.

  • Ability to work across Automation/IT, MSAT, Manufacturing, Validation, and Process Development functions at customer sites.

  • Recognized as a credible technical partner by customer Automation/IT and Engineering teams.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills; proven ability to influence without formal authority.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to translate complex automation concepts into business impact.

  • Customer-centric mindset, entrepreneurial approach, and commercially savvy orientation.
